SCHOLARSHIPS

In general the University of Applied Sciences Offenburg does not grant any scholarships. In this section we try to give you an overview of organisations, which do grant scholarships to foreign Master students. There are several possibilities to receive financial support from different institutions and organisations during your studies in Germany. Granting the financial requirements during the time you will be studying in Germany is normally the responsibility of each student.

German Academic Exchange Service - DAAD

The DAAD offers a comprehensive database where inquiries can be performed.

Scholarships are granted generally for a duration between 12 and 24 months for university degree holders with working experience. Applications should be handed in at least 6 months or more in advance. (different application deadlines for many countries).

Detailed information is also available through the DAAD regional offices, the German Embassy, German Consulate or German Official Representations in your home country. 

European Union Programs

Socrates/Erasmus

For European Citizens who want to study in a different European country. The program supports also language preparation courses.

Alßan

A new program from the European Union for Latin American students and graduates.

Political Foundations in Germany

Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung

Friedrich Ebert was the first democratically elected president of Germany. His foundation supports foreign students and graduates with excellent qualifications, personal character and a strong social-democratic commitment. Scholarships are granted for one year and might be extendible.

Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung

This foundation was given the name of an important political figure not only in Bavaria but in Germany. It supports talented foreign graduates during one year, also to attend preparation language courses. Applicants should be social-political engaged and share Christian and social views.

Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung

The foundation is named after the Literature Nobel Prize holder in agreement with his family and the Green Party in Germany. It supports German and foreign students and graduates with above average achievements and engagement to follow the objectives of the foundation. Foreign students have to have excellent proficiency in German language (DSH Test)

Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e. V. – KAS

Konrad Adenauer remains one of the biggest political persons in Germany. The KAS grants support to talented German and foreign students with social-political interests and to foreign students, also with a good German knowledge and willing to return to their home countries.

Other Foundations

World University Service WUS

The WUS grants extendible one year support to foreign students from Asia, Africa and Latin America, who are socially engaged.

Thomas Gessmann Stiftung

This foundation awards needy German and foreign students with excellent academic performance (highly talented: top 10%) in the field of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Process Engineering. It is important that students study in Baden-Württemberg.

The Russian Fund of German Trade and Industry

supports further education and training of graduates in the fields of law and social sciences; in exceptional cases, students of economics can also apply. Scholarship holders can spend a period at a German higher educational institution. (E-Mail: email: daad@col.ru)

Funds from Religious Organisations

Katholischer Akademischer Ausländer-Dienst KAAD

Scholarships are awarded for young academics from Asia, Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe up to 3 years. German language courses can also be supported.

Evangelisches Studienwerk e.V.

awards scholarships for German students and citizens of EU-countries and Eastern Europe. (Europe-Scholarship). Excellent German (DSH-Prüfung) necessary. Applicants should be socially, politically or culturally engaged and share Christian and social views.

Cusanuswerk

awards scholarships for German students and citizens of EU-countries. You need to have catholic denomination
